Now, if you're willing to sit through 15 pain-staking minutes, you can see it from a less reliable, anti-vaccine source.
This video addresses a lot of "suspected" toxins (as in, they are not proven), and other common myths, presenting them as if they are fact. To be honest, I find this approach to be plain scaremongering.
A comprehensive and genuine list of ingredients in vaccines can be downloaded in .PDF format from the CDC website
(If you don't have a .PDF reader, then you can view them online here too)
Firstly, vaccines are comprised of several types of ingredient.

Most Common Controversial Ingredients:
Formaldehyde: It is common for anti-vaccine advocates to take one ingredient, and blow the negative connotations completely out of proportion. Formaldehyde, is yes, a toxic chemical. It is used in embalming bodies, and you may recognise it's off-yellow coloring, as it has also been used to preserve specimens in jars, and various other yucky things. It is also, through horrid animal testing as you can imagine, a proven carcinogen (meaning it causes cancer). All sounds pretty grim, doesn't it? Well, you may be surprised to hear that formaldehyde exists naturally in our bodies, just like many other poisonous substances. Formaldehyde is used in the production process, to detoxify and inactivate certain viruses. This is later purified away, before being put into the vaccine, but it is true that residual, very small quantities are left over. The amount of formaldehyde in our bloodstream is over 10 times greater than that in any vaccine, and we are also exposed to it through use of paper towels, mascara, and it's even in carpeting. While there is trace amounts of this toxin in some vaccines, it is nowhere near enough to be fatal, or by all means concerned about.Allergens: Many parents have spoken out about the inability and lack of screening to pick up potential allergens in vaccines. It is true that some known allergens such as egg, gelatin, yeast, antibiotics, are present, but medical records will show that the patient is allergic to any of these things, or another vaccine, and precautions can be taken. The majority of the antibiotics used in vaccines, also, are not the type most people are allergic to. A parent on one website wrote "When I ask how they can tell which ingredient my child might have a reaction to, if they have one, and they say they can’t tell, I get concerned" but of course doctors cannot be sure your child will not have an allergic reaction to something in the vaccine they are not already knowingly allergic to. It's like if you (or your child) tries a food for the very first time, there is absolutely no way you can know they aren't allergic to it.
Mercury: Thimerosal, actually. But it does contain mercury, and is/was used as a preservative. While there hasn't been any evidence that small doses can be harmful, due to public outcry, it was removed in 1999-2000 from all vaccines, though some may contain small traces of it.
Heavy Metals: So my boyfriend is always telling me "injections have all sorts of heavy metals in them!", and a great deal of people do believe this without actually looking into it. Actually aluminium salts, are the only form of metal, in vaccines. They work as, and are currently the only used Adjuvants. Aluminium salts have been in vaccines for over 70 years, and are safe. The only people at risk of being harmed by aluminium, are premature babies, who have been exposed to large amounts of it via IVF drip, and people who have longstanding kidney issues and/or failure, who have received large amounts via regular use of antacids. Basically, you must have kidney issues and be exposed to a lot of aluminium for months, if not years. We are exposed to far more aluminium on a daily basis, such as through food, drinking water and showering, using deodorant, drinking out of aluminium cans, and so on. It is also present in baby formula, as well as in the body, so a baby will be exposed to it even if breast fed. In the first 6 months of live, a baby will be exposed to 10 milligrams in breast milk, 40 milligrams in formula, 120 milligrams in soy formula, but only 4 milligrams in all the injections he/she receives in those first 6 months. It is not harmful, the body can break it down and get rid of it, but can sometimes be the reason a person or child experiences fever or other mild side-effects. This is what it is in the vaccine to do, to provoke the immune system, so it will notice the disease fragments or virus without need for there being more active ingredients such as these. It is actually safer to have aluminium salts in vaccines. It should, I feel, be noted that some research has taken place that links aluminium to Alzheimer's Disease, but the tiny amount in a vaccine, opposed to daily exposure in everyday life, really doesn't make much difference.
